When you have extracted data through Scitylana, you can kick-start the analysis by downloading the Power BI Template File attached to this article (see below). The template file does not contain data but includes a complete data model for all available dimensions and metrics extracted from Google Analytics using Scitylana.

(If you sign up for Scitylana and extracted data before Aug 16, 2017, please use this template instead.)

To open the Power BI Template file below, you need Microsoft Power BI Desktop which can be downloaded for free here.

How to load your own data into the Power BI file:

  1. Make sure you have downloaded and installed PBI Desktop
  2. Open the Power BI Template file downloaded from this page
  3. In the dialogue that appears enter the path of the data folder (for information how to find your data path, see below)

The data will now load into the report. If you want to update later, simply click Home > Refresh in the top ribbon.

How to find you data folder path:

When you set up a new data extraction from Google Analytics, you can specify where to store the extracted data.

Later, when you have successfully implemented User ID tracking and completed your configuration, you will see the following:

To copy your data folder path, simply click the link data folder.
